The exchange rate for the U.S. dollar is daunting, but the discount airfares to Europe, London especially, are delicious. They almost make up for the dollar’s dilemma. Consider United Airlines’ latest rates to London Heathrow (LHR), that begin as low...

What are your morning caffeine rituals? Do you drink the same black coffee every morning with French vanilla or hazelnut creamer? The power of coffee not only does wonders for my attention level, of course, but really plays a role mentally for me.I base what kind of coffee I choose to drink each and every morning by how jam packed my day is planned out to be.

I trick and treat myself to a Carmel Latte with low fat milk on days I believe to be ‘extra’ busy. If I’m feeling really crazy, I may take it from a Tall to a Grande! It’s a complete mind game, but from the moment I receive that latte, snug in its cardboard jacket, I know I’ve just started my day out right.
What’s better yet, they have now marketed the new Skinny Latte, for those more health conscious folks out there. I used to tell myself, it’s ok to drink this latte of goodness, even if it does go straight to my head and my hips, I have an extra busy day today! Kudos to whomever thought that I can manage my day with more grace with the power of a Skinny Latte in my hand!

Today Delta celebrates 30 years of transatlantic service!
In 1978, service across the Atlantic was a “dream come true” for us, after trying more than a decade for authority. Our first Delta-operated transatlantic Lockheed 1011 flight began its journey in New Orleans, then stopped in Atlanta before continuing on nonstop to London-Gatwick.
The following day, May 1, 1978, was another big day for Delta as the return flight left London for Atlanta.
Drizzly weather did not dampen the spirits of those during the ribbon-cutting ceremony on the ramp at Gatwick’s Gate 18. Sir Kenneth Keith, Rolls-Royce’s chairman of the board is pictured here cutting the ribbon at our celebration. To his left is Delta CEO Dave Garrett; and on the right dressed as a “Southern belle” is Sherry Cardinale, a Delta marketing representative, beside John Mulkern, chairman of the British Airports Authority, and Carolyn Cote, Delta flight attendant.
Today, Delta operates service to more worldwide destinations than any airline with Delta and Delta Connection flights to 306 destinations in 58 countries.
Celebrate with us! Jet Delta to London.
